Friday and Saturday

So today is day three and we feel much more grounded.

Arriving in Mexico always takes a few days.  We change seasons, time zones, eating habits and lifestyle.  We give ourselves three days to re-establish new rhythms and intentions in our daily life.

This year I am going to write about how we go about doing this, our interests in raw foods and smoothies, health and wellness, rhythms and lifestyles.  Why?  Because I love sharing life and ideas on just how to make it more beautiful, more full, deeper and broader and wider.   I fundamentally feel like we are all in this lifetime together and it is just so inspiring and lovely to share with others. Please feel free to join in with any thoughts you have in the comment section, as we are always interested .

We also have some World Hearth work and planning to do while we are here, but I’ve decided to keep this connected to our personal journey of yearly health and wellness and how we go about doing it.  Every year is different for us.  It begins with a blank canvas and then we slowly begin painting our picture as we create our daily rhythms here.

Some catch up for yesterday first.  The morning began with a scrumptious smoothie for Rod and I:  mango, papaya, banana, protein mix, yogurt and water.  Our first day is always about taking walks on the beach and in town.

The second day is always about getting our food and any supplies we need, and starting our conversation about what we want to do in our days. Shopping for fruits and veges is one of my favourite things to do.  We made our list and headed off walking to our local grocery store.  What were we buying?  Mango, pineapple, papaya, bananas, oranges, grapefruit, limes, spinach, lettuce, avocadoes, tomatoes, onions, carrots, beets, hot peppers, celery, parsley, cilantro, yogurt, cheese for Rod, fresh tortillas, beans and water.

I keep changing my plans for how I want to approach these 30 days, but in any scenario, I begin by just eating light.  We have a smoothie in the morning, salads for lunch and in the evenings we have fresh tortillas, beans and our tomato, cilantro, avocado, onion, lime salsa.  It is such a treat!

Rod adds cheese.

Today will be a bit of a longer post to catch up, as I mentioned earlier.  This morning we got up and went straight out for our walk.  But the wonderful part of today was introducing our water exercise routines we so loved last year.  We walk with drinking water in hand, and then find the perfect place to swim for about an hour.  Swimming is everything from strokes to running in place, crunchies in the water, floating and breathing and dancing away.  There’s nothing like it really.  So freeing with great aerobics and stretches all the time breathing nicely. As we enter each day we find our way selecting just the right balance of things.

So far our rhythm looks like, green or fruit smoothie first thing in the morning, walk along the beach, swim time, back for either more smoothies or salads, writing, reading, emails, project time.  Back out for a late afternoon walk by the beach or errands, drinking lots and lots of water–dinner (maybe smoothie for me, still considering going into a strictly 30- day smoothie fast) tacos for Rod, and then an evening of walking in town, or on the beach or listening to music…..

That’s a good start.

Welcoming your thoughts....
